Ages 9-13 (preteen)

Welcome to the Preteen Years: Where Everything Begins to Shift

If you’re here, chances are you’re parenting (or trying to understand) a child somewhere between ages 9 and 12 the beautifully confusing world we call the preteen years.

This is the season when childhood starts to stretch and shift. When once-carefree kids suddenly care a lot about what their friends think, how their hair looks, or what’s “normal” for someone their age. It’s when moods swing, boundaries get tested, and independence starts to bloom… sometimes with thorns.

As a parent, it can feel like you’re watching your little one disappear before your eyes only to be replaced by someone who still needs you deeply but doesn’t always show it.

This blog space is here for you and for the them inside all this change.

In this section, we’ll talk about:

Emotional ups and downs (theirs and yours) How to build connection even when they roll their eyes Mental health tools they can actually use (and maybe even enjoy) Routines, habits, and coping skills that help the whole family breathe easier Real stories, expert tips, and maybe a little humor (because we need it!)

Whether you’re parenting a sensitive soul, a strong-willed spirit, or a mix of both, this is your space to explore, learn, and know you’re not alone.

Puberty. Friendships. Identity. Big feelings. Bigger questions. We’re walking through it all one post at a time. We’re walking through it all one post at a time.
